Good choice!

There is still much controversy over whether diet pills actually work or not with passionate advocates on both sides.

There are also a lot of “snake oil” salesmen out there touting the latest “miracle drug” that will help you lose 20 pounds in a week.

Only out of your wallet though I’m afraid.

Also with any pills not prescribed and monitored by your doctor you can negatively affect your body’s chemistry and cause yourself long term problems.

Now, I have to admit that I have tried diet pills in the past as an experiment on my fitness blog but didn’t notice any real difference in my rate of fat loss.

It’s only right that I say that to my knowledge I didn’t suffer any problems or side effects but the effect on weight loss was negligible and the cost was high.

Some $4-5 per day soon adds up - and can be put to far better use elsewhere.

So weight loss is entirely possible without diet pills so don’t think you’re at a disadvantage if you’ve decided against them.

Indeed, there is a growing section of the fitness world aiming for “natural” (read “chemical free”) fitness and weight loss so you’re in good company.

There are a number of diets that will help you lose weight without diet pills - and in combination with a sensible exercise regime you can lose a consistent 2-3lbs a week without too much discomfort.

The first of these is the negative calorie diet, the second is the six meals a day diet, the Body For Life plan or lastly the GI diet.

I would suggest you stay away from “fad” diets or those designed for a quick fix, such as the Atkins diet which don’t tend to offer a balanced diet and over which concerns have been raised about their safety.

The best advice I can give you is to fully investigate the above options and get your hands on as many of these books as possible (also feel free to read through this site a little further to expand your knowledge yet further) to see which appeals to you most.

Your choice when it comes to how to lose weight without diet pills should depend on a realistic weighing up of the options available to you.

You don’t want it to be too unpleasant or arduous to lose weight, nor should it take too much effort so try to select the diet that you feel after your research offers the “easiest” way to lose weight - the one that seems to fit your personality and lifestyle most accurately because that’s the one you’ll stick to easiest.

Also worth mentioning is that a new diet should be seen as a lifestyle change - something that you can and will carry on for the foreseeable future rather than a quick few weeks of discipline before you go back to your old ways and end up just as overweight as before.
