How To Lose Weight Fast Without Exercise

If you want to know how to lose weight fast without exercise I have both good and bad news for you.

You see, losing weight without exercise is possible, but it’s much harder (and much slower) than doing it with exercise.

So really I would counsel you that losing weight fast and doing it without exercise are mutually exclusive and suggest you go down one route or the other.

If you really want to lose weight fast - be willing to exercise rather than doing a “half hearted” job without.

The concept of losing weight, as I say all over this site is simple - but unfortunately it’s the application that’s the hard part.

To get thinner you just need to consume less calories than you burn on a daily basis.

This way, your body has to get what it needs from somewhere - which is your fat reserves. After all - that’s exactly what they’re for - to help you keep you going in times of famine or starvation.

So there are two sides - take in less calories and burn up more. The first takes a healthy diet, the other, exercise.

By cutting out exercise from your weight loss program you’re probably robbing yourself of one half of the potential results.

You won’t be able to burn off extra calories to put your body into a deficit.

And whilst you can reduce your food intake to help lose weight there are limits after which this limitation becomes unhealthy.

Just to complicate matters further, if you cut your calorie intake too much your body goes into what many dieticians call “starvation” mode.

What that means is that your metabolism slows down, and with it so does your fat burning ability. Your body does it’s best to hold onto that fat for as long as possible incase it’s needed in the future because the sudden, extreme drop in food is viewed as a “warning shot” of worse things to come.

So ironically it is possible to reduce your food intake but not lose any noticeable weight.

On the other hand, exercise boosts your metabolism (as well as endorphins - the “feel good” hormone, the immune system and a host of other benefits) so you burn fat quicker and with less effort.

If you’re still 100% certain you only want to know how to lose weight fast without exercise then the best advice I can give you is to follow the basics.

By this I mean carefully decide how many calories you should be eating each day (advice elsewhere on this site), divide your calorie intake into 5 or 6 smaller meals rather than 3 huge meals, cut out snacking and all unhealthy foods and drinks.

That means no alcohol or sugary drinks. No burgers, fries, chips etc.

Instead go for low calorie, nutritious foods that contain as little fat as possible (a small amount is inevitable - and in fact is important for a healthy diet - just don’t go using this as an excuse to eat rubbish!).
